DeMozulator 2.0. To check all the URLs on a dmoz index page (while-u-wait),
enter the URL you want to check below, then click on the check button. The
page will be fetched, then each
URL on it will be checked, and the results will be displayed. Note that depending
on your browser, you may get output in big chunks. Don't worry if you
don't see output for a while, unless the connection times out, it's still
working. Be patient!
New Features:
- You can now enter more than one url into the form, and each page will
be checked in turn.
- If the page isn't a dmoz page, it will be checked to see if it
exists, but urls on it won't be checked. Useful for validating a
list of urls.
- The form is smart enough (usually) to parse a tab or comma
delimited list, extracting any urls on each line. Useful for checking
bookmarks, for example. Note however if you have urls with commas in
them, you'll need to specify "don't parse comma separated lists" below.
The DeMozulator checks for the following anomalies:
- Page loadability (including 404 not found, no DNS, etc.)
- Redirection to another URL.
- The infamous not-right-but-browsers-fix-it missing trailing / in the URL (you can now disable this)
When the DeMozulator finds a problem, you should manually check the site to make sure that
it is indeed screwed up. It is quite possible that a site that the DeMozulator's server
can't reach can be reached by you. This is particularly the case if the error reported
is a timeout.
